Streetwear brands such as, Supreme and Palace are labelled as skateboarder brands and under the definitions from dictionaries, 'skateboarder' brands are male dominated and the clothes are usually designed for the male sex. So the question remains, can females wear streetwear brands?
@supreme
Streetwear brands are elusive with categorising their clothes for a certain sex, and they do not tend to state how their clothes are unisex either, it is more of a brand where if you like it, you buy it, which I think is great. However, on the whole, understandably it is unfortunate for the females in the streetwear community, because even though they will still wear the skateboarder clothes, necessities such as sleepwear will not available for girls. I know that females are irritated at this because I see the efforts that some people go through to make their own that I see on for sale on internet shops such as Depop. For example, bralettes are being remade with the logo band from the male Supreme boxer shorts. Though, I own a pair of these boxer shorts and use them as pyjama shorts, or I would wear them underneath trousers or shorts so that the band is visible.

Though, there is one streetwear brand that is inclusive to females in the community, Stussy. Stussy is a clothing brand founded in 1984 by Shawn Stussy. Like Supreme and Palace, some of the most oldest and original brands are known for their iconic logo that is easily recognisable. Stussy's logo is a signature that is printed small or large on their apparel and accessories. They are well known as they have done collaborations in the past with Nike and BAPE but not with highend fashion. Stussy is more accessible than other streetwear brands because it is sold in the store 'size?' and other shops that contain either nike or adidas. Stussy started both men and womens clothing. The clothing is very similar with the same materials, shape and colours, for example female shorts are designed at the same length as the male shorts. Stussy also sells womens swimwear and loungewear, making the brand more appealing to women. Females are also a part of the photo-shoots as well, to further advertise their brand, this is not evident in other streetwear brands such as Supreme.
@stussy
There are no limitations for wearing streetwear especially considering most females like wearing clothes that they feel comfortable in, and some of that comfort comes from oversized clothes that tend to be made for men. Overall, Stussy is one of the reasons why females feel inclusive in the streetwear community and it enables them to wear more of the clothes that appeal to them according to their personal preferences.
